When we (my
wife and I) moved from India to US, we missed them a lot and we still do. Its
funny but I use to feel as if someone has snatched my Bhaiya and Bhabhi (brother
and sister-in-law) away from me. I was so much attached to both of them –and I
still am.
Because I love them...
So one night at around 1:00am in the middle of the night, I thought of sending
them a personal gift. The question was – What gift? When I couldn’t think of
anything else, I thought ‘Why not send them a video/slideshow which could
express how I feel about them’ and thus this simple slideshow took its birth!
It took that whole night for me to develop this little show that had one of the
most touching instrumental songs being played in the background. It has all my
emotions and feelings flowing all over it in form of small text messages. I
wanted to say all that to them… and I did… using this ‘out of the heart’ – my
heartfelt express in words and pictures…
It Touched their Heart...
I sent it to
India and when they saw it along with other family members; I could (not
couldn’t) believe what I was told had happened after that because I knew they
had that heart to feel it.
Well, there were around 8-10 people watching this video that night at my home in
India, and by the time this video ended, almost everyone was wiping their tears
from their ever emotional eye. So much so that I am told that my younger brother
could not control bursting into tears after seeing the show…
Value? ... Invaluable!
Not that I had done anything great, not even that I had given them any expensive
gifts. I know that this gift was nothing as compared to other gifts that I may
have bought for them. But ask them to find out their most memorable gift ever.
Ask them how they felt when they saw this personalized video and you’ll know the
value of this simple and yet highly emotional gift for them…
When your loved ones get touched by your gestures, that’s when you know that
your gift has reached their heart….
I always say;
So let your
gifts touch hearts, lives and emotions of people you love. Believe me, you CAN
